Do you use IM while browsing the web?

Chances are you do. This includes anything from using Facebook Chat, Google Chat, AIM, Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, etc.

I'm sure you also hate having to click back into the 'chat' window in order to keep talking to your friend. This awesome little utility called 'KatMouse' lets you keep typing while scrolling through web pages. Basically, any* window you hover your mouse over will allow you to scroll up and down the page with the mouse wheel without having to actually CLICK on the page. This lets you keep typing away while browsing without having to click back and forth over and over each time your friend(s) respond.

Thanks David for this great recommendation!

Hang pictures (and other decorations) quickly, easily, and LEVEL

Just read about this nifty little product on Lifehacker and I have to say, for only being $13.87 on amazon, it seems like a good buy. Not only will it save you time trying to figure out where to mark the holes for nails/screws/etc, but it helps ensure that every picture you hang is level!

Normally it requires measurements, 'eyeing' it, and/or using a level, all of which together takes up too much tedious time, especially when you're wanting to do a lot of decorating (if you recently moved for example).

Take a look at the link below!

Save up to 70% on water when using the toilet!

Below I have linked to an excellent product I highly recommend for anyone interested in saving money. The HydroRight Dual Flush Converter is an easy to install mechanism that can be used on any size toilet to save you thousands of gallons of water per year.

Here's what the manufacturer has to say about it:

Most toilets use the same amount of water for every flush. But a bowl filled with just liquid and paper, which is the case 4 out 5 times, doesn’t need a full tank of water to flush effectively. Using the HydroRight in any size toilet will save thousands of gallons of water per year.
Don't feel you have what it takes to install it yourself? Let this eight year-old kid show you just how easy it is.

Stop 50% of malware, viruses, spyware, and trojans with this simple trick!

LH outlines how easily malware can run on your computer simply by plugging in an infected USB device. This can be prevented however by disabling the AutoRun feature that's built into Windows.

For the more tech saavy out there (or those just willing to take risks) here's the change you can make to the Registry to disable AutoRun.

Open notepad and copy/paste the following into it:

REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\IniFileMapping\Autorun.inf]
@="@SYS:DoesNotExist"

After pasting, safe the file as something.reg and after saving, double click the newly created file.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to add the data to the registry, simply click yes to allow.

This hack disables any requests for the autorun.inf, which is where many virus laced USB devices store their malicious code.

If that seems too risky or difficult for you, read the article linked below for simpler options.

Wii Homebrew Review - unlock wii, softmod wii a review

Owner of a Nintendo Wii gaming system?

I highly recommend checking out the link below. Wii Homebrew is a softmod for the Wii gaming system that allows you to essentially 'unlock' your Wii system without the use of any modchips. The following is a list of the top features enabled after installing Wii Homebrew:

-Play backed up games
-Play DVDs
-Play ANY region games
-Play MP3's, MP4's and AVI's
-Install in minutes
-Safely unlock your Wii
I don't personally own a Wii to review it myself, but if I had access to one I'd definitely give it a try. I'm a HUGE fan of emulators and the ability to play old school games. This software comes pre-installed with an emulator that allows you to play your favorite 64, SNES and Sega games!

What's your mood?

I recently downloaded a song recommended through my favorite site (Lifehacker). The album artwork that showed up in Windows Media Player had an entertaining little ghost icon with the words "GHOSTLY.COM" below it, so out of curiosity, I checked it out! (The song was pretty relaxing, so I had to see if more was available). And wouldn't you know it? I saw a little link on the main page that looked like this:

So naturally I clicked it, and found it to be a very entertaining little flash-based webapp that will choose music for you based on what you perceive your mood to be! Of course it's not psychic or anything, you have to tell it how you're feeling, but still, definitely worth some of your time if you're a music buff and in the mood for some music ;-)

Find a Job! - "Social Jobs Partnership" Facebook page

Hello again everyone! I can't take credit for finding this. My dear friends over at LH (Lifehacker.com) wrote this article and I felt it must be shared! Times are tough, and if you're out of a job... Those times are a million times worse. Take a look below at this great new resource!
It's no secret that millions of people are having a hard time finding work. The US Labor Department's new Social Jobs Partnership page on Facebook is designed to connected these job-seekers with little-known career resources and job openings. Right now the page is in development, but you can see organizations and services listed in the career resources section such as the National Association of Colleges and Employers, DirectEmployers, and Job Corps. The Labor Department's My Skills My Future website is one of the resources linked; it helps people find alternative careers based on their current skills. The Facebook page promises to be sort of an online job fair mixed with career counseling tools and information. Given Facebook's popularity, it has great potential, and this is one Facebook page we hope will be a great success.

Keep track of your bills!

Manilla is a new (in beta) web app that helps you keep track of all your major bills! I haven't been using it tremendously long, but so far I'm loving it!

It has many custom notifications and reminders to help you keep on top of everything. Being so busy on a regular basis, my mail tends to just pile up... and some bills wind up being forgotten about until they're way late and I'm getting calls from my utility company's saying 'Hey asshole, pay your damn *instert bill here*'

I definitely suggest taking a look and giving it a try. I was a little skeptical at first on giving out all my account information, however they seem to be pretty secure (as you'll notice on the bottom of their page, they're trusted by McAfee, VeriSign SSL, AND TRUSTe certified privacy).

I didn't give any sort of walk through on how to set up this app, so if anyone would like further clarification/help, please let me know in the comments.

Thanks again for reading ^_^
